Key learning objectives:

• Understand the SOLVE framework and its application in mediation practice.

• Conduct systematic case and stakeholder assessments before mediation (the power-interest framework).

• Prepare clients psychologically and strategically for mediated negotiation.

• Define mediation goals and preferred settlement parameters.

• Develop case summaries and mediation briefs aligned with client goals and mediation principles.

• Establish professional roles and boundaries between lawyer, client, and mediator.

• Integrate checklists and pre-mediation protocols into everyday legal workflow.

This workshop is designed for lawyers seeking a structured, methodical approach to preparing for mediation using the SOLVE framework.
