An overview of Financial Landscape in the UAE

The course aims at providing legal practitioners with an overall understanding of the financial sector in the United Arab Emirates as well as its regulatory framework regarding licensed and unregulated financial institutions, with a specific focus on Federal Decree-Law No. 14/2018. Exploring this decree will clarify its implications on financial activities, penalties, and prohibitions, while also examining Federal Decree-Law No. 34/2021 concerning regulations related to misleading advertisements.
Furthermore, this course provides a comparative study between EU Directive 2018/843 amending Directive (EU) 2015/849 and United Arab Emirates Federal Decree-Law No.20/2018, highlighting the similarities, differences, and suggested implementations in the UAE legal system.
