New For 2026

The Legal Affairs Department is proud to introduce the 11th year of the Continuing Legal Professional Development (CLPD) programme, designed to empower legal consultants with cutting-edge knowledge and skills.

Building on valuable feedback from our community, the Department has decided to reintroduce online courses, allowing up to 50% of the mandatory CLPD requirements (four out of eight points) to be completed virtually for greater flexibility and accessibility. In addition, to online courses, the Department will be introducing a limited number of CLPD days hosted within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). These in-person sessions provide a convenient opportunity for Legal Consultants to fulfill all mandatory requirements in one streamlined, central location.

Face to Face Online Ethics
  • A minimum of two
  • Up to one course can be completed
  • Only one course must be completed every year

These enhancements demonstrate the Department's unwavering commitment to delivering innovative programmes, adapting to the evolving needs of legal professionals, and actively incorporating feedback to create a more responsive and world-class learning experience. We're excited to launch a new podcast series in Q2, offering on-demand audio content on emerging legal topics. These podcasts will count toward your accredited activities, providing an engaging way to stay informed on the go. Q2 will also see the introduction of rolling mandatory topics—specialized courses designed by industry experts and offered on a limited basis to address timely legal developments. Please note: Mediation is no longer a compulsory requirement, giving you more choice in how you meet your points.

Mandatory CLPD Activities

  • Delivery Options: Choose face-to-face sessions or opt for one of our upcoming courses.
  • Ethics: Compulsory Course delivered online

Of the four Mandatory topics, a Legal Consultant must complete two face to face sessions as a minimum, and may select one online in addition to Ethics. As always, we'll roll out new courses throughout 2026 to keep pace with evolving laws and regulations in the Emirate. Legal consultants can also choose from courses introduced in prior years, as long as they haven't completed them in the same format previously.

FILING SYSTEM IS LIVE. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO ACCESS.

Each practicing legal consultant registered on the roll must earn sixteen (16) CLPD points annually. At least eight (8) points must derive from Mandatory CLPD Activities, including a minimum of two (2) in Ethics. The remaining eight (8) points come from Accredited CLPD Activities selected from our approved offerings, with no single activity exceeding four (4) points.
