The Environmental aspects are related to how corporate activities impact the environment, such as the extraction of natural resources, harvesting wood, burning fuel to generate energy and its related carbon effects, and waste produced by these activities.

The Social aspects look at how corporations manage their relationships with their employees, customers and communities, including equitable pay, child labor, human trafficking, customer protection, and community development among others.

The Governance aspects refer to the systems and processes a corporation has in place to manage itself and its interactions with the wider community or communities.
